Decoration of a country house: country style – artificial aging of a tree
When creating the interior of a country house, they think primarily about the cosiness, comfort and functionality of the space. What style is best to decorate your home?
Your country house seems boring and of the same type to you. It is time to change the situation. Which style to choose. Now in fashion, of course, country style. This means that both in the interior design and in the facade elements should be present elements of the most environmentally friendly and eye-pleasing material – wood. The love of natural materials was transmitted to us from our ancestors. Wooden furniture and decor items will create an atmosphere of unusually cosiness and tranquility in the room, and the colors of natural wood – from pale pink to noble dark stained oak – will make it possible to arrange the room in any color scheme and for any mood.
The country style is characterized by simplicity, minimalism, discreet calm colors in the interior, the use of only natural materials: wood, stone. The room is decorated in antique style: antique dishes, vintage decor items, antique figurines. This style is suitable for small houses with relatively low ceilings. Country style suggests that light, pastel colors will dominate the room, which will visually increase the room.
So, if you decide to try yourself as a designer, first of all you need to choose the dominant color of the room. As already mentioned, it is better to make it light: coffee with milk, soft lime, cream, light brown. Now let’s talk about furniture. If the room is decorated in antiquity, then the furniture should also look “pretty old.” This does not mean that you need to use old, dry furniture.
How to “age” fresh wood? For this, artificial aging of the tree is used.
This technology is used in the manufacture of exclusive furniture to order. If the customer wants a retro-style product. Aging of wood is the removal of soft fibers from it in order to achieve natural depressions. Then the wood is tinted and coated with matt varnish. But this effect can be achieved independently. It is enough to apply a special craquelure varnish under the main paint, which, when dried, will cover the surface with small cracks, creating the effect of an old tree.
Painting of wooden facades can be carried out using the same technology, but here you need to be careful when choosing a paint. Indeed, a tree, depending on weather conditions (humidity / dryness, heat / frost), is able to change volume and breathe. High-quality paint should not contain artificial solvents, otherwise, when the temperature drops, it simply crackes, and the facade will lose its entire appearance. In other words, high-quality paint “breathes” with wood. When painting, to avoid sagging, you need to carefully smear the edges of each smear with an almost dry brush. This especially sways the facades lined with clapboard.
